One challenge that I have faced personally is that plants can be expensive. You might go to your nearby big-box store or local nursery and fall in love with some of the options they have, only to then look at the price tag and see dollar signs. Granted, there has been significant investment on the part of the grower, or nursery, to care for the plants to reach maturity. For flowering plants, that might be four or five years of care. For trees and shrubs, the time cared for might be even longer.
My goal is to make native plants more affordable for all. Because if every home across America planted a small pollinator garden, the positive impacts would be immense.
Plants still growing….
